Course Objectives

1. The learner would be able to understand the basic syntax of Arabic. He may also get an
idea of ihrab, sarf and rare combinations of Arabic.

2. The learner will understand how a sentence is formed and expanded.
3. The learner will understand the main components of a sentence and complementary

parts of the same sentence.
4. The learner can express his ideas with confidence.

5. The learner will understand the four important domains of Arabic grammar:

structure/syntax, morphology/sarf, parsing/ihrab and rare combinations/asaleebu
nnahwiyya.

Course Outcomes

Upon completing the course students will,

1. Understand the basic syntax of Arabic

2. Learn to generate grammatically correct sentences in Arabic
3. Understand the main components of a sentence

4. Express ideas with confidence

5. Understand the four domains of Arabic grammar
