Course Objectives

1. To introduce the learner to the world of literature.
2. To take them through the evolutionary stages in the formation of the discipline
of literature
3. To acquaint the learner with different periods and their salient features in the
history of literature

Course Outcomes

Upon completing the course, learners will,
1. have an understanding of the interface between literature and life.
2. have an idea about literature as a textual device representing life.
3. have knowledge of the evolutionary phases in the formation of the
discipline of literature.
