Prerequisites
Picture a bustling classroom. A teacher explains a complex concept in Malayalam and
then switches to English for key terms. Students take notes, some in Malayalam script,
others in English. In the back, two friends whisper, effortlessly mixing both languages.
This snapshot of a typical classroom highlights the multilingual nature of education
and communication in the state. From ancient times, when scholars debated in Sanskrit
at Kodungallur, to the present day of global connectivity, our land has been a melting pot
of languages and ideas.
The ability to communicate effectively – whether in one’s mother tongue, English, or
other languages – is crucial in today’s world. It shapes our educational experiences, career
prospects, and personal relationships. As we explore the fundamental skills of communi-
cation, we’ll discover how mastering these abilities can open doors to new opportunities
and foster deeper understanding in our diverse linguistic landscape.

Discussion In this unit, we will be discussing the skills
Communication can be in both spoken or needed for flawless communication. We need to
